Katie Cashman, Sarah Cox, Averi Hallman, Allison Jordan, Megan Lindsay, Tasha Luu, Marissa Mykines, Tiara Pitttman-Thomas and Kellie Zakrzewski are university seniors or post-collegiate standouts that will take the field Sunday as part of the initial lineup.

Katie Cashman :: A recent product of Eastern Washington University, the standout defender was a Big Sky All-Conference honorable mention in her freshman and sophomore seasons before being named Big Sky All-Conference Second Team in 2014 as a senior after helping lead the Eagles to a program record six shutouts.  (pictured above second from left)

Sarah Cox :: The former Gonzaga University striker played for the Lady Bulldogs from 2008-11. She was a major contributor all four years, playing over 17 games in all but her junior season in which she led the team in points with five goals and six assists. She also led the team in points as a senior – for the third consecutive year - with four goals and seven assists, finishing her career with 16 goals and 16 assists. After graduating, Cox also played for the Victoria Highlanders in the W-League. (pictured right)

Averi Hallman :: A recent 2013 cum laude graduate at the University of Memphis, Hallman was a three-time All-Conference selection in Conference USA. The Spokane native (Mt Spokane HS) helped lead Memphis to three conference titles and NCAA tournament appearances, and was also a Conference USA All-Freshman Team selection. Allison Jordan :: The Spokane native (Central Valley HS) is currently a senior at Eastern Oregon University, where she has helped lead the Mountaineers to new heights in the past two years after transferring from the University of New Mexico-Highlands. Megan Lindsay :: The Spokane native (Gonzaga Prep HS) is arguably one of the areas most successful current players. After a stellar collegiate career at Seattle Pacific University where she finished ranked as program’s third all-time goal scorer (41 goals with 21 assists), she has pursued a career abroad and has played professionally in Iceland, Finland, Bosnia, France and Norway and may return to Europe later this summer. While at SPU she was voted First Team All-League in the GNAC unanimously as a sophomore, junior and senior, earning All-West First Team honors as well. She also played for the Seattle Sounders Women in the W-League from 2011-13 and briefly with the Spokane Shine in 2010. (pictured right)

Tasha Luu :: The Colville (Colville HS) product is currently a senior at Eastern Washington University. She made a name for herself at CC Spokane for the Bigfoot, helping lead the team to the 2012 NWAC Final. She was named Team MVP both seasons and was honored as the NWAC Player of the Year in 2013. Her play earned her a transfer to EWU, where she has helped the program reach new heights in the Big Sky Conference over the past two seasons. (pictured above right)

Marissa Mykines :: The Spokane native (Mead HS) helped lead the University of Illinois from 2008-2011, capping her collegiate career with a fantastic senior season in which she was named team Offensive MVP, All-Conference Second Team and Big Ten Tournament Offensive MVP as her side won the Big Ten tournament championship. The former U18 National Team pool player also played professionally overseas in Sweden and briefly with Seattle Reign in the 2013 preseason tour in Japan as well as with Vancouver Whitecaps and Bay Area Breeze, where she was named Offensive MVP.  (pictured right)

Tiara Pittman-Thomas :: The Spokane native (Mt Spokane HS) was a midfielder at Washington State University from 2008-2011, earning PAC-10 All-Academic honors twice.  She was a regular contributor for the Cougars, playing 19 or more games every season except an injury-shortened junior campaign, and providing 10 goals and three assists over the course of her career. Pittman-Thomas is also a former Shadow youth player.  (pictured right)

Kellie Zakrzewski :: The Cheney native (Cheney HS) was the second leading scorer for Seattle Pacific University as a sophomore in 2011 behind Megan Lindsay with 10 goals and four assists, following up an eight-goal, three-assist performance as a freshman that was third on the team. The Shadow Women’s First Team will also be adding more collegiate standouts throughout the course of the season as well as introducing developmental players from the Shadow youth system to the community.

“It looks to be the start of an exciting group of women to represent Spokane in the Northwest Premier League this season,” said head coach Kevin Moon.  “This group presents a lot of talent, and the youth players in the mix have also impressed. The training sessions have been a lot of fun. The players have worked hard and these ladies were into it! It’s such a pleasure to work with players that want to be better and are self-motivated.”
