The 2017 schedule was announced Monday for the Spokane Shadow Women's First Team, which will kick off defense of its Northwest Premier League championship at home on April 30. The inaugural league winners will see a new challenge with the format changing to 10 matches and a postseason playoff.

The Spokane Shadow announced the 2017 schedule for the men's First Team as it prepares for it's first season in the National Premier Soccer League. The team will play a 10-match schedule, facing each of the other five clubs home and away. The regular season slate kicks off May 20 and will conclude July 8 with playoff potentially to follow.

Both leagues will kick off with a combined seven games on May 1, three of them doubleheaders, and wrap up the weekend of July 30-31. The Shadow First Teams will continue to call its primary home Spokane Falls CC Stadium, where it has won two EPLWA titles, home in 2016.

Spokane SC Shadow announced the dates for several key events coming up in 2016, The first event will be the Shadow Charity Poker Tournament & Auction on February 28. On field events kick off in March when the club hosts the Inland Northwest 5-a-Side tournament and the First Team holds tryouts in preparation to defend its back-to-back EPLWA championships. The club also will host the Northwest Cup youth tournament August 12-14.

Needing five points in its final three games to accomplish the feat, the Shadow visit the Seattle Stars in Everett (Goddard Stadium, Mariner HS) Saturday afternoon and then face Bellingham United (Civic Stadium) 24 hours later. With a season-opening victory at Wenatchee and a pair of wins against Yakima United, the Shadow are in position to make it a complete full season sweep of their opposition from this side of the state. The Shadow came from behind in Wenatchee in the first meeting to grab a 3-2 halftime lead before rolling off five unanswered in a stunning 8-2 win over the Capitals, who played Yakima to a 1-0 win and 3-3 draw in the two meetings between the central Washington rivals. Spokane swept Yakima 2-0 and 2-1.

Four different players scored on the night for the hosts, including Karl Muelheims, who netted for the third consecutive game.
