Over the past two weeks, many of the Spokane Sounders and Spokane Shadow teams ventured to the west side of the state for some tournament competition, primarily in the Crossfire Challenge at the 60 Acres Complex.

In the opening weekend of the Crossfire Challenge (older age brackets), the G00A ladies won the U18 Super Group at Crossfire Challenge with a 3-2 win over GS Surf in the Final after a 2-1 penalty kick decision in the semifinals against Washington Rush and a 2-1-0 mark in group play. The B02B squad took the U16 Boys Silver Group title with a 3-0 win over GS Surf in the championship. They defeated Washington Premier 3-2 in the semifinal after going 2-1-0 in their group slate. The B01B side came up just short in a 2-1 contest against WFC Rangers in the U17 Boys Silver Final and the B01A run came to an end in the semis of the U17 Boys Super Group. Both teams were 2-0-1 in group play with the B side rolling to a 6-0 semifinal win against Breakers FC in their semifinal while the B01As were knocked out, 2-0, by Washington Rush.

In the second weekend of the Crossfire Challenge (younger age brackets), the G05A girls were perfect en route to winning the U13 Gold bracket with a 3-0-0 group record and a pair of 1-0 wins in the semifinals and final against PacNW and Harbor Premier, respectively. The G06A City girls also reached the final of their U12 Silver bracket, going 2-1-0 in group play and beating Crossfire Premier 2-1 in the semifinal before falling to ISC Gunners in the championship. The G06A Valley girls also advanced from their group with a 2-1-0 record, but were eliminated from the U12 Super bracket in a narrow 1-0 semifinal loss.

Several teams also participated in the Sounders FC Cup at Starfire with two advancing to the championship game. The G07 Valley girls were perfect on the weekend with a 3-0-0 group record and a 1-0 championship game victory against NSC Xtreme in the U11 Green bracket. The Shadow Elite G03 girls reached the championship with a 2-1-0 group record, but fell in the U15 Silver title game in a 2-0 loss to ISC Gunners.
