Here's a round-up of the second month of RCL action from October 8-30. Many of the Spokane Sounders squads continue to excel and are within range of finishing atop their tables as they head into the final month-plus of the season.
Sounders B98-A / Sounders B98-B
It has been a light month for the A squad, which played just once in the past four weeks, posting a 4-2 victory against GS Surf at home. They sit fifth in the U19 Division 2, but have played fewer games than those in front, including leader GS Surf, who are only three points ahead. The B team dropped their first game of the schedule 3-0 on the ninth to Eastside FC, but rebounded in the past two weeks with three consecutive victories over STU Chelsea Academy, Kent United and NorthWest United to keep them within a point of Eastside in first in U19 Division 3.
In U17 Division 2, the Sounders rebounded from a tough road trip four weeks ago in which they lost to Kitsap Alliance and Crossfire Premier to roll off three straight victories against Crossfire Premier, Kitsap Alliance at home and GS Surf away to sit atop the table.
Sounders B01-A / Sounders B01-B
Things are turning around in the U16 age group where in Division 1 the A squad is unbeaten in its last four after going winless in its first six. After dropping a one-goal decision against GS Surf on the ninth, a week off from RCL may have done wonders as they beat Crossfire Premier and Crossfire Yakima at home before going on the road to play Seattle United to a draw and winning at WPFC. The B squad has similarly found a positive run after losing its first six, by wining two of its last three. They topped Harbor Premier, currently in second, and downed Crossfire Premier before falling to leader Whatcom FC.
Sounders B02-A / Sounders B02-B
The A squad only hit the pitch for one weekend in U15 Division 1, splitting at home with a loss to Crossfire Premier and a win against Seattle United. Both were one-goal decisions. In Division 4, the B team remains unbeaten, posing three wins and a draw to stay atop the table, though STU Chelsea has several games in hand. The two meet in the Shadow's final game of the season on the road November 13.
Sounders B03-A / Sounders B03-B
In U14 Division 2, it continues to be a tough campaign as they picked up just on win in five games over the past four weeks. On the season, however, the team has been fairly competitive with the opposition, never losing by more than two goals in any game. The B squad continues to dominate in Division 5. They went 4-0-1 in the past four weeks, outscoring the opposition 32-2. They blanked Snohomish United before playing a 2-2 draw at second-place WPFC that doubled their goals allowed total for the season. They finished that trip with a shutout win at Harbor Premier and returned home for two more clean sheet victories.
Sounders B04-A / Sounders B04-B
In U13 Division 1, the Sounders A squad continue to sit atop the table, going 4-1-1 in the past four weeks. The won at GS Surf and played NorthWest United to a draw at home. On the road a week later they got the better of NorthWest United and beat Eastside FC. In the final weekend they won at home against WPFC but fell in a one-goal affair at Three Rivers for their lone defeat this season. In Division 4, the B squad has come up just short in many of its games at 0-4-2 over the last four weeks. They gave up three goals only once and lost by two only twice in the four losses.
Sounders G03-A / Sounders G03-B
After starting perfect in their first four Sounders A team has seen stiffer competition over the past four weeks in U14 Division 3, going 2-1-1. They edged Seattle United on the road but lost a one-goal affair the next day at Eastside FC. In another road trip two weeks later they played WPFC to a draw and blanked Kitsap Alliance. In Division 5, the B squad continues to roll with a 3-0-2 mark for the past four weeks. It started with a road trip that saw them draw with NorthWest United and blank Whatcom. They returned home, where they got the better of NorthWest United, and then returned to the road for a draw at WPFC and shutout win at Harbor Premier.
Sounders G04-A / Sounders G04-B
In U13 Division 2 the Sounders A side is still doing well. After a tough road trip early in the month in which they fell at second-place Harbor Premier and drew against Washington Rush they returned home to top NorthWest United. The B team, meanwhile, is crushing it in Division 4 with a perfect record through 10 games, allowing just four goals. They opened things up four weeks ago with a huge three-win road trip, downing Blackhills on Saturday and downing both GS Surf and Kitsap Alliance on Sunday. They returned home and posted wins against NorthWest United and Whatcom Rangers the next two weeks.
