The Spokane Sounders are proud to share that Camryn Gardner and the duo of Jadon Bowton and Altyn Cader were invited to join the Region IV sides at the USYS Interregional events this winter.
Gardner, a defensive midfielder, attended the Girls Thanksgiving Interregional in Boca Raton, Florida as a member of the 2000/01 squad, the oldest of the four age brackets at the event. The event ran from November 19-24. The Region IV West team fell in the opening game 4-0 to the Midwest, which ended up going unbeaten with a 2-0-1 record. They rebounded well though. The West rallied in the second half for a 3-2 victory over the East in the second game and played to a 2-2 draw against the South in their final match.
Bowton and Cader are at the Boys Florida Interregional in Bradenton, Florida as members of the 2002 squad, the youngest of three age groups at the event. The event runs from December 1-3. It is the second year at the event for Bowton, who is one of two goalkeepers for the team. The invitation is progression for Cader, who was a part of the Region IV camp a year ago, but was not a part of the Interregional team. The West team opened the event with a 6-2 victory Friday morning (PT). You can follow their progress HERE [+]
